About Divisare

Divisare is a website created by an improbable staff, a mix of professors, architecture students and web maniacs.

Different people with different cultures and mentalities, all united by the same passion for architecture.

By working together, we have become convinced of one thing: the Web is changing rapidly: the demand for information is transforming itself into participation, from passive fruition of other's contents to a boom of contents generated by users that are distributed and re-used in thousands of different ways.

In Divisare, we have tried to bring these changes into architectural schools.

These are the fundamental principles that have inspired our work:

We believe that school means communication.

Quite often, what is lacking in a good design course is good communication. Divisare offers advanced tools for better organizing communication in a school environment, not only the unilateral communication between professors and students, but also more general communication among all parties, and especially the school in its entirety in relation to the external world.

We believe that school means confrontation.

Whether you are a student or a professor, the most important thing for us is to offer you a tool with which to circulate your ideas. An architectural project is always the expression of an idea. Communicating this idea outside of the single classroom, and outside of the single institute, is at the top of the list of objectives for Divisare.

We believe that school means a meeting of ideas.

School is a hothouse of ideas, a place for meeting and exchanging ideas. What's more exciting than making new friends, meeting similar people with whom you can work with in harmony? Divisare allows you to create synergy and relationships with your colleagues of tomorrow, even if they live on the other side of the world.

We believe that school means process.

When traveling, the final destination sometimes is not the most important thing, and at times the most meaningful factors are the experiences of the journey itself. The final design of a project is always a synthesis of sorts – even though partial – of a complex cognitive process, but for us every step towards the final design of a project is a significant testimonial, and we believe that it is worth it to conserve them. For this reason, you will be able to record as many versions as you wish of every project that you publish, from the first initial ideas to the final planning phase.

We believe that school means going deeper.

In Divisare you will be able to dedicate yourselves to a theme that you feel particularly yours and discuss it with your colleagues, confronting your work and opinions. You will be able to create groups for delving into a particular theme or specific aspect of a discipline together. It will be possible to gather all the interventions of a thematic sector, with a heading or slogan, visible to all, but whose construction is open only to a small number of invited people, if you should wish.

We believe that school means growth.

Make the most of other's experiences; communicate in areas where your colleagues have not ventured. Think of school as a collective experience in which the work of each student is a positive affirmation, a step forward, and a place to start and eventually pick up the train of thought left behind. For this reason, Divisare offers you an unlimited archive, a safe place where your work and your ideas will be saved for free for as long as you wish.
