HORTA HOUSE

GUILLERMO SANTOMÀ

From the Publisher

Part of the collection "Spanish Interiors 1", issue #131 presents the renovation of a 1920 three-story house in Barcelona by interior and product designer Guillermo Santomà. Spanish photographer José Hevia captures the irony of this intervention, suspended between bright colors and traditional tiles, Catalan vaulted ceilings and unexpected geometries. A false facade solves the kitchen-toilet allowing the light come in as a false skylight. An extension of the stairs simulating a giant arc, allows the communication between the three floors, taking advantage of the gap to make the sofa.
